Eavestrough Cleaning
& Installation Across the Peace Region

Clean-outs, new eavestrough and downspout installs, and repairs for the ones that leak, sag or dump water in the wrong place. Hands-on quote. Owner on every job.

Your Eavestroughs Are the Cheapest Insurance on the House

Nobody thinks about eavestroughs until water is somewhere it shouldn't be. That's the problem with them. They're the one part of the roof that fails quietly, and by the time you notice, the damage isn't in the trough. It's in the fascia, the soffit, the siding, or the basement.

A working eavestrough does one job: take every litre that runs off your roof and put it far away from your foundation. When it's packed with spruce needles and shingle grit, it can't. Water goes over the back edge instead, straight down the wall and into the ground beside the house. Sunnybrook cleans, repairs and installs eavestroughs across Taylor, Fort St. John, Charlie Lake, Farmington, and Baldonnel.

What We Do

What Drives the Price

Length of run · height & access · downspouts & corners · clean, repair or replace

We don't publish an eavestrough price, because the honest answer depends on the house. A single-storey bungalow with a straight run is a completely different job from a two-storey with five corners and a steep pitch. Same rule as our roofs: no phone-only ballparks. We come look at it and give you the real number in writing.

Why This Matters More Up Here

In the Peace Region eavestroughs get hit from both ends of the calendar. Spring drops seeds, buds and poplar fluff into them. Fall fills them with leaves and the granules that wash off your shingles. Then everything freezes.

That last part is what most people miss. A blocked eavestrough going into winter is a trough full of water that turns into a trough full of ice. It's heavy enough to pull the run off the fascia, and it gives meltwater nowhere to go, which is exactly how ice dams get started along the roof edge. A fall clean-out is a small job that prevents a genuinely expensive one.

Cleaned Once, Then Actually Checked

Cleaning is the easy part. The useful part is what we notice while we're up there: a seam starting to weep, a run that's lost its slope, hangers pulling loose, a soft spot in the fascia, a downspout dumping right at the corner of the foundation.

We'll tell you what we found and what it needs, including when the answer is "nothing, it's fine, see you next fall." We'd rather do a $0 recommendation and keep your business than sell you eavestroughs you don't need.

Getting Eavestroughs With a New Roof

If you're already replacing the roof, that's the right time to deal with the eavestroughs. The drip edge, the fascia and the trough all meet along the same line. Doing them together means the edge gets built as one system, with fewer seams to leak later, and one crew standing behind the whole thing instead of two pointing at each other.

Eavestrough FAQs

How often should eavestroughs be cleaned in the Peace Region?

Twice a year is the safe rhythm for most Peace Region homes. Once in late spring after the seeds and buds drop, and once in the fall after the leaves come down but before everything freezes. If you have spruce or poplar hanging over the roof, you'll want the fall clean every year without fail.

What happens if I never clean my eavestroughs?

Water stops going where it's supposed to. It spills over the back edge into the fascia and soffit, rots the board the eavestrough is bolted to, and runs straight down against your foundation. In winter a packed trough holds water that freezes, and that's where a lot of ice dams start.

Can you replace just one section of eavestrough?

Often, yes. If the rest of the run is solid and the slope is still right, replacing a damaged section or re-hanging a sagging one is far cheaper than doing the whole house. We'll tell you honestly which one you're looking at.

Do you install eavestroughs at the same time as a new roof?

Yes, and it's the best time to do it. The drip edge, the fascia and the eavestrough all meet at the same line, so fitting them together in one go means fewer seams to leak later and one crew responsible for the whole edge of your roof.

How much does eavestrough work cost?

It depends on the length of the run, the height and access, how many downspouts and corners are involved, and whether we're cleaning, repairing or installing new. We don't give phone-only ballparks. We come look at it and give you the real number in writing.
